Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026. Hive Group Benefits is an independent insurance brokerage based in Newfoundland & Labrador. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we handle it and the choices available to you.

What we collect

The instant quote calculators work in your browser, so you can see pricing without giving us contact information. We receive information when you submit a form:

  • Contact details — your name, business name, email address, phone number and any message you send us.
  • Instant quote details — team size, anonymous employee ages, coverage selections, current-plan information and salary figures used to estimate disability coverage.
  • Chambers census details — employer contact and business information, and employee names, dates of birth, province, marital and dependent status, staff classification, occupation, employment date, earnings, hours, coverage selections and optional contact details. The census does not ask for medical-history information.
  • Visit context — the page and URL from which you submit, referring page and campaign parameters such as UTM tags, so we can understand the source of the request.

How we use it

We use the information you submit to prepare, verify and follow up on a benefits quote or meeting request; help you apply for or administer coverage you request; prevent abuse; and meet legal, regulatory and professional record-keeping obligations.

We do not sell your information, share it with third-party marketers or add you to mailing lists you did not request.

Who we share it with

We may share relevant information with insurers and plan administrators you ask us to approach, including Chambers Plan, and with service providers that support our website and business systems, including Microsoft 365 and Power Automate. Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical information to protect submitted forms from spam and abuse. Our secure website service validates submissions and recalculates group quotes before forwarding them to our business systems. It retains protected submission identifiers and delivery status to prevent duplicate requests; form contents are not stored in that duplicate-prevention record. We may also disclose information when required by law or a regulator.

These organizations handle information under their own terms or their service agreements with us. We limit sharing to what is reasonably needed for the stated purpose.

Where it lives and how long we keep it

Form submissions are delivered to the business systems used by Hive and its service providers. We keep quote, census and contact records only as long as needed to serve you and meet applicable insurance, legal and regulatory record-keeping obligations. When records are no longer required, we delete or securely dispose of them.

Safeguards

We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please contact us if you believe information has been submitted or accessed improperly.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising cookies. Your route selections and in-progress instant quote are stored temporarily in your browser's session storage so they are not lost during your visit. Quote information is sent to Hive only when you submit a form.

If you choose “Accept analytics,” we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and which quote-funnel steps they complete. Analytics receives a clean page address, the original landing page, a controlled traffic-source category, the product path and, where relevant, a team-size band, a chosen plan tier, the form placement or a general error category. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, business names, employee details, ages, salaries, quote amounts, application identifiers or intake request IDs to analytics. Google also processes analytics cookie identifiers, browser/device information and connection information as part of providing the service. Processing may take place outside Canada.

Analytics is optional and starts only after you accept. Declining does not affect calculators, pricing or form submission. We store your choice in this browser for up to six months; analytics cookies are configured to expire after six months without extending their expiry on visits. You can change your choice using “Analytics choices” in the footer. Declining after accepting stops further analytics collection on this site and removes its analytics cookies from this browser; it does not remove information already received by Google. Temporary attribution categories and submission deduplication records stay in session storage and are never sent as personal identifiers. You may also contact our Privacy Officer about your choices.

Google's handling is described in its Privacy Policy and information about partner sites.

Information about other people

If you submit information about employees or anyone else, you confirm that you are authorized to provide it for the purpose of obtaining a benefits quote and that you have given those individuals any notice or obtained any consent required by law.

Your choices

You can ask to access or correct the information we hold about you, withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions, or ask us to delete information we no longer need to retain. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
